Canton CPC sets FY28 application deadlines, extends three projects pending signage and contractor issues.

Community Preservation Committee · Meeting of April 13, 2026

Canton Community Preservation Committee extended three projects and set FY28 grant deadlines. Vice Chairperson Melissa Mayer and members approved unanimous motions to extend the Canton Corner Cemetery and Olde English Burying Ground projects until June 1, 2026, and the Hunneman Hand Tub project until August 24, 2026, all pending required CPA-funding signage installation. The Committee set pre-application and full-application deadlines for next fiscal year at August 14 and October 9, 2026, respectively.

Affordable Housing Trust Chairperson Lisa Lopez and Select Board Vice Chairperson Trisha Boyden presented Canton's Subsidized Housing Inventory, which exceeds the 10 percent state threshold at 12 percent, and discussed the AHT's plan to fund regulatory compliance costs for developers through forgivable loans from the Affordable Housing Production Fund; if approved at Town Meeting, a $100,000 FY27 grant would bring the fund to over $500,000 for future projects.
