CANTON — Capital Planning Committee approves Zoom participation and reviews departmental capital requests. The committee unanimously allowed remote voting for members in February and March 2026. MIS Director Louis Jutras and the Committee agreed to defer a $12,000 Library audiovisual equipment purchase until next year, when post-renovation space use will be clearer and updated quotes available.
Revere & Son Heritage Trust representatives presented two separate projects totaling $36,800 in Cash Capital: a vestibule wall addition at the Rolling Mill expected to save $1,500 monthly in utilities, and a barn storage project for climate-controlled artifact storage. Town Administrator Charlie Doody addressed the Committee's concerns about police cruiser replacements, explaining that Tahoes offer superior maintenance profiles and officer safety compared to aging Explorers, and the Committee agreed that safety considerations outweighed operating costs.
