CANTON — Capital Planning Committee reviews FY27 capital requests totaling over $8.5 million. The committee heard from Department of Public Works Operations Manager Bill Walsh regarding water enterprise requests including a $2.5 million ultrafiltration system replacement at Sullivan Treatment Facility and a $2.25 million lead service line inventory and replacement phase. Library Director Andrea Capone presented an interior renovation request of $1,366,540 ($840,994 debt capital, $525,546 cash reserves) to address water damage and modernization needs; the committee asked Capone and library representatives to clarify total project costs and funding allocations across all phases (approximately $9 million including completed roof and HVAC work) for presentation to voters.
The committee approved the January 12 meeting minutes unanimously and plans to vote on remaining 2026 minutes and specific capital requests on February 24.
