CANTON — Capital Planning Committee recommends most FY27 school capital requests to Finance Committee. The panel voted to approve cash capital requests totaling $881,555 across building repairs, technology, safety, program improvements, and vehicle acquisitions, with Chairperson Christopher Deck and members Gregory Murphy, Lisa Lopez, David Emhardt, and Adam Nichols present. The committee rejected two requests, a $35,000 Network Zone Directory SSID Configuration and a $108,000 Passenger Vans request, over missing vendor quotes, though members signaled willingness to reconsider if documentation arrived.
The committee also voted to recommend $1,062,000 in debt capital spending, including $762,000 for the Luce Rooftop Replacement Planning Phase and $300,000 for a CHS Lighting Control System Upgrade.
