Canton asks residents to keep holiday lights out of recycling bins
Canton's Department of Public Works is reminding residents that string lights should not go in recycling bins and should instead be dropped off at the Canton Transfer Station.
The Town of Canton's Department of Public Works announced Oct. 21 that residents should not place tangled holiday string lights in their recycling bins.
Instead, the department said string lights can be brought to a designated electronics drop-off location at the Canton Transfer Station, located at 99 Pine Street in Canton.
The announcement urged residents to "Recycle Right" this holiday season by using the proper disposal method for string lights rather than curbside recycling.
